Asharq Al-Awsat was the first Arab daily newspaper to adopt the satellite broadcast system for simultaneous printing in a number of major cities around the world, and currently it is the only Arab newspaper that owns the Arabic copyrights of a number of famous international media institutions such as the Washington Post and others.
